ABOUT
HOW THE WARRIOR WITHIN
PROJECT WAS BORN
I'm Luke Douglass, founder of The Warrior Within Project. After returning from the Middle East in 2013, unexpected life events post deployment and posting left me searching for a brighter future. I turned to adventure, health, and human performance to rediscover the colour in my life.
Over the past 7 years as a Physical Training Instructor, I helped develop tactical athletes and future military leaders, but I also saw the physical and mental health struggles of those around me. Following an epic journey to raise money and awareness for our Veterans and Emergency Services personnel fighting the battle of mental health issues, I found myself burnt out and broken, with the unknown of fatherhood and civilian life about to slap me in the face.
The humbling experience made me realize the importance of resilience, sustainable holistic health, and wellbeing, leading me to create The Warrior Within Project. Our integrative program empowers and equips veterans, emergency services personnel, and their families to lead fulfilling lives beyond their service.
